The Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) launched the International Credit Transfer program for the second time in Academic Year 2021-2022, providing grants for Indonesian universities to enroll their students in online courses at their respective partner universities abroad for one semester. Sampoerna University is one of the universities selected, with three students participating in this highly in-demand program.
International Credit Transfer or ICT is a program initiated under Kampus Merdeka campaign where students are encouraged to earn credits from other campuses to enrich their learning experience. Through the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa), the MoEC provides funding for students to earn credits from international universities through online learning. In this opportunity, Sampoerna University works together with its current partner, the University of Arizona, to enroll participating students in its online learning platform, UA Global Direct.
Sampoerna University is honored to receive the grant to participate in this program as its goal and aspiration align directly to the university’s vision and mission to provide international-level education to equip its students with skills and competencies that would prepare them to be leaders for the global society. Sampoerna University’s current academic structure is also designed to recognize interdisciplinary learning, providing a conducive and sound academic and operational process to support the implementation of this program.
Participating students, all of whom are coming from three study programs that have received a minimum of B accreditation, were carefully nominated and selected by the program’s coordinator and team. The three students selected to participate in this program are Arta Putra – Management, Erma Mei Safa – Accounting, and Tashya Arifiani – English Language Education, all from the 2019 intake.
They are now taking 6 credits of online courses at the University of Arizona. The courses taken range from general education to foundation courses. All credits earned at the University of Arizona will all be seamlessly articulated to Sampoerna University’s credits and be counted toward their degree completion.
