The first batch of Visual Communication Design study program graduates of Sampoerna University show that they are ready to be part of the world. At “NEXT Generation One” exhibition, anyone is welcome to see what digital, new media projects they have produced for 4 years of their study at the university. It is also going to be the first time where graduates connect with industry players and public.
The exhibition will showcase the best works of seven (7) graduates of the new-launched study program. It is to reveal their artistic journey. Here we can witness that there is always something new to learn. They will continue to learn and understand how much it takes to succeed in various industries after graduation to become the pride of the almamater and Indonesia.
At NEXT, all of the graduates will be given the freedom to tell their own stories through designs. Each design or project unravels each of graduates’s most personal design creation to public.
Tombak Matahari (Head of Visual Communication Design study program) stated that not only they will be heard more by industry players out there, but they also will hear and receive questions, criticism, opinion and also support for their design projects. “This exhibition is a way to understand how people think of, perceive and respond to the works of our graduates,” he spoke. “They can speak the same lingo, and exchange imagination as well.”
Held from September 4 to September 6, 2019, NEXT is expected to be more than another student exhibition. It should be a hub where designers can get together, share ideas, and talk about the current wave in the design industry.
“On the 5th of September, we also will have a compelling talk about the global design industry that features seasoned guest speaker: Aras Darmawan.” Tombak detailed. The guest speaker is the creative director and founder of ARAS, also known for his experience as motion graphic consultant to Nickelodeon, Google, Showtime.
The event is free of charge and open for public. For more information, follow Visual Communication Design program’s Instagram account @VCDSampoerna. (*/)
