The minister who is well-known for her outspoken and bold character delivered her keynote speech on Thursday (18/10/2018) at the Atrium of Sampoerna Strategic Square, Jakarta.
“We need them to develop this nation and to become a great country. Sampoerna University and Putera Sampoerna Foundation will guard the sustainable management of Indonesia’s maritime resources that we have set up as a legacy,” she remarked on stage before the audience consisting the graduates, their parents, Senate members, and invitees. Susi added that she has known Sampoerna for being one of the best in terms of quality.
“As the new generation, you should have a different mindset in managing our resources,” Susi said. “Instead of exploiting them now, we should manage them sustainably because protecting our resources can actually benefit us more.”
Sampoerna University rector Wahdi Salasi April Yudhi Ph. D. and Sampoerna School’s System president Dr. Marshall Schott also addressed the 104 graduates and over 200 guests at the ceremony.
To support the ministry, Sampoerna University will offer three Merit Awards, which are worth more than Rp1 billion to children of fishermen who show excellent academic proficiency.
