The Sampoerna University (SU) Library offers an educational environment that is responsive, innovative and contemporary. Our faculty, staff and students have access to one of the largest collections of library resources available in Indonesia.

 

The collective mission of the SU Library is to:

 

  • Provide assistance and opportunities to students, faculty, and staff to meet their informational and educational needs and to promote continuous learning.

  • Provide onsite and remote access to resources, instruction and services that meet the needs of our college community.

  • Contribute to information competency and empower our community to become critical and effective information users.

  • Provide functional facilities and virtual environments to support the needs of effective teaching and learning. The library is Located on Level 6 of the L’Avenue Building. It includes Common Learning Spaces for individual and group study. The library is an integrated learning space with quiet zones, collaborative study areas, private meeting and discussion rooms and personal storage lockers. The SU library is a fully automated library system with most resources available on or off-campus.

SU’s library provides access to a large collection of e-resources and provides high-quality interdisciplinary content to support teaching, learning, and research. The library e-resources are accessible from within SU’s campus. For remote access (off-campus) login to the library’s homepage portal. Once you are logged in, you will have access to e-resources while your browser session remains opened.

ABI/INFORM Complete (ProQuest)

The database features thousands of full-text journals, dissertations, working papers, key business and economics periodicals such as the Economist, country-and industry-focused reports, and downloadable data. Its international coverage gives researchers a complete picture of companies and business trends around the world.

ProQuest Education Journals

ProQuest Education Journals provides access to over 900 top educational publications, including more than 600 of the titles in full text. The coverage spans the literature on primary, secondary and higher education as well as special education, home schooling and adult education. Many titles are indexed in the ERIC database.

JSTOR

The JSTOR digital archive includes more than 1,500 leading academic journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, as well as selected monographs and other materials valuable for academic work. The entire back runs of journals (from volume 1, issue 1) are always included, and in 2010 JSTOR expanded its vast collection of archival content to include the most recent issues of select academic journals through the Current Scholarship Program.

The Science Direct College Edition (Social & Behavioral Sciences)

The Science Direct College Edition provides online access to over 1800 full text, peer reviewed journals. It offers leading literature online in the Social Sciences, including Psychology, Business & Management, Geography, Tourism & Transportation, Education, Language & Linguistics, Economics, Sociology, Social Policy & Political Science, Library & Information Sciences, and Accounting & Finance.

The Science Direct College Edition (Physical Sciences & Engineering)

The Science Direct College Edition provides online access to over 1200 full text, peer reviewed journals. It offers leading literature online in the Physical Sciences & Engineering, including Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Energy, Engineering, Materials Science, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy.

Ebrary

Ebrary is a database which contains over 150,000 electronic books, spanning a wide variety of disciplines. It includes content from more than 200 of the world’s leading academic, scientific, technical, and professional publishers.

Thomson Reuters Eikon

This database provides the essential news, data, analytics, commentary and insights you need in one place, so you can act quickly and confidently. Integrated trading and messaging tools make it simple to turn insight into action. Due to its ease of access, TRE keeps you connected to the markets at any time, wherever you are. This database can only be accessed through SU’s Library. For training requests on how to use this product, please contact a librarian.

Thomson Reuters Datastream

With Datastream’s vast reserves of historical financial content, you can research the correlations and relationships between global economic indicators and asset classes. The power of Datastream is available in the way that works best for you: as a powerful desktop application, through a web browser and lightweight, on-demand plug-in or a data feed for integration into your own systems. This database can only be accessed through SU’s library. For training requests for this product, please contact a librarian.

For in-person assistance on finding books, articles, and other resources, stop by the library’s main desk or schedule a research consultation in advance.

Library Student Instruction

The library offers a variety of instructional programs to help students learn and develop research skills. If you are an instructor seeking instruction for your class, contact us to schedule a session.
Librarians are available to meet with your class Monday through Friday. Sessions last about an hour. We suggest to provide this session at the beginning of each class.

Tutoring Services

Sampoerna University provides tutoring support for all students on campus and online. The Tutoring Center located at the Library provides assistance with English and Mathematics instruction. Online tutoring is available to support many of the subjects/ courses that SU offers. The purpose of our tutoring services is to help students meet the academic standards of the university within a positive and constructive atmosphere.
