On 18-19 August 2021, Best Presenter Awards Sampoerna University participated in the 6th Annual Applied Science & Engineering Conference (AASEC) as one of the co-hosts. As the COVID-19 pandemic has affected diverse aspects, this time the event was held in virtual mode.
The grand theme of this year’s conference is “The Post Covid-19 Pandemic: Challenges and Opportunities in Environment, Science, and Engineering Research”. AASEC is considered one of the most prestigious applied science and engineering events in Indonesia. There were more than 200 abstracts presented by experts, researchers, and students from leading universities such as Universitas Indonesia and Institut Teknologi Bandung. In addition to these universities, representatives of Indonesia’s prominent research institutions were also present, i.e., the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), the National Nuclear Energy Agency of Indonesia (BATAN), and the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT).
“The AASEC 2021 is very special this year because five of Sampoerna University’s students won the Best Presenter Awards. A very memorable moment for us in Mechanical Engineering Study Program!” said Dr. Farid Triawan, the Head of Mechanical Engineering Study Program at Sampoerna University and one of the keynote speakers.
“Being able to contribute at a scientific conference is indeed a great experience for me” said Putri Angelica, a Mechanical Engineering student who was named one of the best presenters at the conference. Sampoerna University students also brought home another four awards in the best presenter category each for Mohammad Bayu Nur Akbar, Ihza Lisiano Al Qushai, Adven Simarmata and Dara Ginanti all from the Mechanical Engineering major.
At Sampoerna University, we fully support our students and lecturers to be able to participate in national and international conferences or seminars that will help them acquire as much knowledge as possible from scholars and scientists from around the country and the world.
