CETL views excellence in teaching and learning as the most important aspects that promotes student success

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) was established to enhance the quality of teaching practices of Sampoerna University (SU) faculty members. CETL views excellence in teaching-learning as the most important aspect that promotes student success. Thus, CETL is committed to enhancing faculty members’ capacity through various professional development programs on innovative pedagogical practices, cutting-edge technologies, and building students’ 21st-century skills. CETL values and recognizes SU faculty members’ excellence in teaching-learning practices and innovation.

The Main Goal of CETL

In the period of 2020-2025, the main goal of CETL is to achieve Sampoerna University’s STRATEGIC GOAL 2. C: 

 

  • Develop more robust educational technologies and tools that make the full resources of the university accessible to students. 
  • Develop fully integrated student-centered technology accessible through a centralized portal.
  • Promote and monitor the use of approved Learning Management Systems by all faculty.
  • Provide ongoing technical and pedagogical training of faculty for maximum functionality of the LMS and other learning tools.

CETL Programs and Events

Workshops
CETL conducts workshop sessions to provide professional development programs for SU faculty members to become excellent in teaching and learning. The goal is to provide professional development programs for SU lecturers to develop their pedagogical practices through innovative tools and methods and build students’ 21st-century skills.

 

 

SU Teaching Learning Festival (TLF)
CETL organizes the SU Teaching Learning Festival (TLF) at the end of each semester. Each faculty selects a faculty representative(s) who will showcase their teaching innovation or best practices in their respective course(s). The program’s goal is to provide opportunities for SU faculty members to share ideas on best practices in utilizing Canvas and other technical tools for innovative teaching, which leads to the scholarly discussion of teaching and learning.
